Staines Parish

 
As a parish we take seriously our responsibilities for care of our childen and young people. We have therefore adopted the following policy in line with that recommended by the Diocese of London.

  • We commit oursleves to nurture, protect and safeguard all our members, particularly childen and young people.

  • We recognise that our work with children and young people is the responsibility of the whole church community.
  • We undertake to exercise proper care in the selection, appointment and support of those working with children, whether paid or volunteer.
  • We wish to support parents and carers who have responsibility for bringing up children.
  • We accept and endorse the principles of the Children Act 1989 and the House of Bishops' Policy Satement Protecting All God's Children (2004)
The Parish have appointed three Children's Advocates, one for each of the church congregations:
  • Pam Cosh (St Peter's)
  • Caroline Grieveson (Christ Church)
  • Beth Scott (St Mary's)
The Children's Advocates will act as the voice of children and young people within the parish and should be contacted whenever any issues arise.

Carol Bartlett will maintain documention within the parish and ensure that each individual working with children has obtained the required clearance.
